El Shaddai Camp 2009
Uncategorized 7 Comments »Hey
This week, for three days the three year 6/7 classes went to camp. The campsite was called El Shaddai. It was an hour and a half bus ride. When we got there we were given a tour by a man called Dave. We went to our dorms and got settled in. Some of the activities included of : Vertical Challange, Giant Swing, Fishing, Raft Making, Canoeing, Rock Climbing, Archery and Screen Printing. The Giant Swing was 12 meters high!!!
The weather wasn’t so kind to us. It was wet, cold and windy. Everyone still had a great time, even though they might have missed out on some activities that they wanted to do.
The food was great. The cook Jim was a real Chef. We were fed very well.
All of the instructors were very supportive and encouraging. If you weren’t comfortable with doing an activity, you weren’t forced into it.
In between activities we had some free time. We could go on the Trampolines, a Tarzan Swing and a Flying Fox. The Flying Fox was a seat attached to rope which was attached to wire that went for about ten meters horizontaly. The Trampolines were great fun. The Tarzan Swing was a fourth of a normal tire attached to a rope, which was attached to a log frame. It was all so much fun!
The things that I learnt on camp were, that I am absolutely terrified of heights and I can do anything if I persist.

Fair Day
Uncategorized 3 Comments »Hey
Last friday our school had a Fair Day. Every class had to put on some stalls. Our class did “Hot Dogs“ and “Guess the lollies in the jar”. Mr. Smith won the first one and Jessewon the second one. Some of the stalls by other classes were: Icy cold cans, Toffee Apples, Wizz Fizz, Spiders, Chocolate things, “Come in Tosser”, Pick a Stick and lots more….
At the start of Fair Day it started to rain. We just had to carry on. It cleared up and it was a really fun day.

Beck’s Work
Uncategorized 3 Comments »Hey Everyone,
As you know we have Beck on Thursdays because Pam is the Computer Co-ordinator. Last term we did a project on Sustainable Living. We either had to bulid a house out of wood, cardboard ex, or design a scrapbook with every room of the house in it. We cut pictures out of magazines and made the page look like a room.
I learnt about saving energy and water. Remember a clean world is a green world.
This term though we are studing “Medieval Europe”. Our first task is to make a Castle out of Cardboard, paper ex. We got into pairs and got started. I think this will be a good topic to focus on.

Term 3!!! Back in Action!!!
Uncategorized No Comments »Hey everyone
Hope you had good holidays, but know its back to school. That doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. This term will be busy for us, with lots of things happening. We are partnering up with another class to do our Inquiry. Our Inquiry is on Endangered Animals. At the end of this term the three year 6/7 classes are going to a camp site called El Shaddai.
Also this term is the I.B.M.Y.P Project. I.B.M.Y.P. stands for International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program.
The I.B Project is a project where we can build, research and create something.
We also have to do a process journal. This is the most important part of the
project. We have to document everything we do. Weather we have any problems or successes.
Last year I did a shoulder bag.
If you did an I.B Project last year, what did you do?
If you didn’t do an I.B Project last year, what would you like to do?
At your school, do you do anything with the I.B Program?
